Merchant's description

Château Trotte Vieille is an historical wine estate in Saint-Émilion that has been owned by the Borie-Manoux négociant business since 1949. In 1955 it was rated as Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the official classification of Saint-Émilion wines, a status the Château retained in 2022. The 2001 is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc, The wine was aged new French oak barrels for 18-24 months. Notes of dark fruits, including ripe black cherries and blackcurrants. Earthy undertones of cedar and graphite complement the profile, while the tannins offer structure and depth.
