Enjoy it now or hold it for a couple of years. No need to decant before serving. This is a crisp and aromatic Semillon wine from Hunter Valley, bursting with aromas of white flowers, lemon curd and ripe citrus fruits. The fruits were harvested from some of the region’s top Semillon vineyards, with an average vine age of 40 years. It is an excellent wine, designed to be enjoyed immediately. Tyrell’s is an established winery in South East Australia, home to some of the original Semillon and Shiraz sites that were planted back in the 19th century, by Edward Tyrell. The Tyrell family own 8 of the 11 oldest vineyards in New South Wales, and employ a tremendous knowledge of the land, to create a stunning range of classic Australian wines. Notes of pear, star fruit and fresh green herbs mingle on the palate of this medium-bodied white. It is equal parts vibrant and elegant. Refreshing acidity drives a concentrated fruit character. On the finish, steely hints of minerality also reveal themselves. The fruits spent a short period of time ageing on the yeast lees, adding even more texture and depth to each bottle. It will be a fantastic wine to pair with a creamy sauce, shellfish, or even a roasted chicken.
