Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Founded in 1984 by three friends, Vina Aquitania is a boutique winery set in Chile’s Maipo Valley. Vina Aquitania's vineyards are located in the foothills of the Andes Mountains, with the grapes benefiting from the warm, sunny days and cool nights. The winery's philosophy is to produce wines that reflect the harmony between the vineyard and the winemaking process, with a focus on sustainable practices. This Carmenere cuvee is made from hand-selected grapes that are grown in the estate vineyards which benefit from the region's typically warm days and cool nights. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, adding complexity and depth to its already rich flavor profile. On the nose you can expect aromas of black fruit, such as blackberry and black cherry, along with notes of chocolate and spice. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and velvety with flavors of ripe plum, dark chocolate, and a hint of smoke. Tannins are firm yet silky, providing a long, smooth and satisfying finish. The punchy character of this red wine makes it an excellent partner for grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and strong cheeses.
