Merchant's description

Marquis d`Angerville Volnay Clos des Ducs 2009 is a medium-bodied Burgundy red wine from the Premier Cru, Clos des Ducs in the Volnay commune of the Côte de Beaune. Once part-owned by the Dukes of Burgundy, Domaine Marquis d`Angerville is a historic Burgundy producer based in Volnay. Its vineyard holdings cover approximately 16.5 hectares, which includes the prized monopole Clos des Ducs, where this release comes from. The Clos des Ducs site is known for its delicate balance and potential for ageing. Marquis d`Angerville, is notable for its early commitment to biodynamic practices, enhancing the authenticity of its wines while respecting the local ecosystem. 1990 considered as one of the finest vintages of the time, offers a warm bouquet of ripe, now stewed fruit. Balanced with bramble and subtle spice, ripe integrated tannins and bright acidity. Drink now until 2030 at least.
