The iconic Château d`Yquem produces what is arguably the world`s most famous sweet wine. It was the only château in Sauternes to be recognized as a Premier Cru Supérieur in the official Classification of 1855. Yquem also makes a dry white Bordeaux known as ‘Y’ – or ‘Ygrec’ in French. The wine is made primarily from Sauvignon Blanc picked at the start of the harvest, with a smaller proportion of Sémillon. Expect a rich expression, brimming with notes of tropical fruits, citrus, vanilla, with a touch of white pepper and minerality.
