Merchant's description

Château d’Yquem is a Premier Cru Supérieur Classé property that not only sits atop the highest hills in Sauternes, it also overshadows most other sweet wines in the world in terms of its extraordinary consistency, complexity and longevity. From a warm, small-yielding vintage, the 1989 is an immensely concentrated and powerful wine, with gorgeous waves of dried tropical fruits, apricot and mandarin that interweave with notes of honey, citrus peel, butter and crushed minerals. Though wonderful to drink now, this should easily last until 2040+.
