Eastside is Mark Aubert’s only Chardonnay from the Russian River AVA but it is notable for producing powerful yet delicately elegant wines. Produced from the Montrachet clone, the 2018 bursts forth with incredibly complex aromas of apple, peach, pie crust, smoked hazelnut and spices. It is full-bodied and decadent yet never imbalanced and, indeed, finishes with a beautiful saline-tinged mineral freshness.
