Merchant's description

Château Balestard La Tonnelle is a Grand Cru Classé wine estate in Saint-Émilion. The estate has been in existence since the 15th century, and the current owner is Jacques Capdemourlin. The vineyards are located on a clay-limestone plateau at the top of a hillside, at the gates of the medieval city of Saint-Émilion. The 2012 vintage of Château Balestard La Tonnelle is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a deep, dark ruby red wine with aromas of cedar, lead pencil, and plummy red fruit.
