Merchant's description

Vinhos Barbeito is a family-owned Madeira producer based on the south coast of the island. It was founded by Mário Barbeito de Vasconcelos, and it has been producing fortified wines since 1946. This 20-year-old Tinta Negra comes from the Ribeiro Real vineyards, which are situated approximately 200 metres above sea level. Aged in traditional Portuguese ‘pipas’, the wine offers a lovely aroma profile including dried figs, caramel, balsamic, polished wood and nuts. The palate is warm and complex, with spiced acidity and excellent depth.
