The 2024 Boekenhoutskloof Goldmine White is a multi-regional Cape white blend from South Africa’s Western Cape, often described as the white counterpart to The Chocolate Block. It is a blend predominantly of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon and Viognier, with each variety matured separately in a combination of seasoned French oak foudres, concrete eggs, clay amphorae and new French barriques. The resulting medium-bodied wine is elegant and textured, showing fresh aromas of quince, poached pear and nectarine, leading to a palate of juicy stone fruit and citrus, balanced by a pithy, lightly saline finish.
