The blend of Bollinger`s Grande Annee 1996 consists of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Each vineyard lot was fermented separately in small oak casks, after which a strict selection determines the final assemblage. This is an outstanding vintage, with great maturity and racy structure, full-bodied and powerful. The nose reveals ginger, freshly baked bread, blossom honey, with predominantly citrus and hazelnuts on the palate.
