Carruades de Lafite 2009 is the second wine of Château Lafite Rothschild in Pauillac. This magnum is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot grown on the gravelly Carruades plateau. The 2009 vintage provided optimal ripening conditions with warm days and cool nights, yielding an aromatic radiance that is characteristic of the year. Notes of smoky plum and blackcurrant are immediate, while ripe, silky tannins provide a round and approachable mouthfeel.
