Founded by the Perez family, which boasts a long winemaking tradition dating back to the 18th century, the company is now managed by Raul Perez and his son. It owns approximately 80 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, spread across small plots with varying soils and exposures, where the local Mencia grape dominates. The Godello grapes for this white wine come from three parcels: Villegas, with sandy soil; El Val, with clayey and stony soils and a cool climate; and El Barredo, with clayey soils. After manual harvesting, fermentation takes place in barrels of various sizes, where the wine ages for a year before bottling. El Castro de Valtuille Godello is a fresh and fragrant white wine that presents itself in the glass with a pale straw yellow color. Its aromatic profile is broad, with notes of citrus and yellow plum, followed by intense floral aromas, hints of beeswax, and spices. On the palate, it is lively and distinctive, silky and juicy. It has a lively and refreshing acidity and a distinctive savory note. The finish is long with a light savory aftertaste. Enjoy it with fish, vegetable risottos, and seafood.
