Situated on the Pomerol plateau, between Vieux-Chateaux Certan and Pétrus, Château Certan de May is a 5-hectare property currently managed by legendary winemaker Jean-Luc Barreau. The vineyard is planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which grow on a combination of clay and gravel soils. “Tasted at the chateau. The palate exhibits superb balance and typically fine tannins, the Cabernet lending it a sturdy backbone but supported by some ripe, beautifully poised Merlot.
