Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Frédéric Esmonin is a family-owned domaine, which started producing estate bottled wines in 1987. The domaine has two grand cru vineyard plots in Gevrey-Chambertin – planted between 1949 and 1959 – as well as three premier crus. This release is the 2006 vintage of their Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze, a highly prized Grand Cru vineyard at the northern end of the Côte d`Or. The site produces wines that are typically scented, concentrated and age-worthy.
