Comte Georges de Vogüé is a historic estate producing some of the most coveted wines in Burgundy. The current name of the domaine is credited to Comte Georges de Vogüé who was at the helm of the winery for over 50 years. This release is their Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru from the excellent 2003 vintage. The nose suggests red fruit, prunes and liquorice with hints of oriental spices. On the palate, the wine is somewhat dense and sweet but quite fresh and well structured, with good grip from the ripe tannins.
