Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant, but best to open it an hour before service. Founded in 2018 by Goga Maisuradze and now managed by his family, the Georgian winery Château Buera is located in the Napareuli subregion. The estate, which covers approximately 5 hectares of land, enjoys a strategic location with extraordinary views of the Caucasus Mountains. The company's philosophy is focused on producing Georgian premium and reserve wines from indigenous grape varieties, combining ancient winemaking traditions with modern technologies. The Mtsvane grapes, a Georgian variety, come from the estate's vineyards. After careful selection and manual harvesting, the wine is made using the traditional qvevri method with six months of maceration on the skins. The finished wine then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels and another 12 months in the bottle. In the glass, Mtsvane Qvevri Reserve reveals a bright amber color and an intense aromatic profile with floral notes of quince and orange peel, followed by smoky and honeyed notes. On the palate, it is rounded, smooth, and complex. It has good fruit concentration and a full-bodied texture. It is balanced with a refreshing acidity and a long finish that recalls slightly savory notes. Try it with poultry and Middle Eastern cuisine.
