Merchant's description

Situated in Vosne-Romanée, Méo-Camuzet is renowned for producing some of the most highly sought-after wines in the Côte d`Or. The estate was originally established by Étienne Camuzet, who wore dual hats as a vigneron and a dedicated politician, primarily residing in Paris. Today, the domaine encompasses 14 hectares of vineyards in exceptionally prestigious Burgundian appellations and crus. Since 1989, Jean-Nicolas Méo has been at the helm of the estate, also overseeing the Nicolas-Jay estate in Oregon`s Willamette Valley. Camuzet`s vineyard plot in the Clos de Vougeot, located near the château, traces its origins back to Étienne Camuzet`s acquisition in 1920, boasting an average vine age of 60 years. The 2008 vintage is now at its peak, showcasing the evolution from cellar ageing. It offers pleasingly rounded fruit and spice notes with a subtle oak influence and hints of citrus. The wine is characterized by an exceptional nose and a long, satisfying finish.
