Merchant's description

Clos du Marquis 2016 is a Left Bank Bordeaux red wine from the Saint-Julien appellation. The 2016 blend is dominated by 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remainder being Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged in 60% new French oak. This vintage is celebrated for its near-perfect conditions, resulting in wines with high tannin levels but exceptional silkiness and balance from this single vineyard on the Léoville Las Cases estate. The wine carries the hallmark Saint-Julien elegance, defined by a cooling graphite mineral core and deep blackcurrant fruit. Aromatics of cedar, tobacco leaf and violets lead into a medium-bodied palate of great precision and depth. The tannins are architectural but refined, providing the necessary structure for 30 years of development while maintaining a suave, fragrant finish.
