Domaine Ponsot Clos St Denis 1999 is a Grand Cru red Burgundy from an exceptional quality vintage that produced wines of immense power and longevity. The 1999 season offered ideal conditions for Pinot Noir allowing for deep colour and thick-skinned grapes with high natural tannins. Ponsot uses very old vines and avoids the use of new oak which allows the earthy and gamey characters of the site to be clearly expressed. After 25 years this wine remains vigorous with a dense core of dark fruit and a prominent mineral grit.
