Colgin Tychson Hill 2014 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon red wine from the Napa Valley of California. Colgin Cellars was established by Ann Colgin in 1992. Anne crafted her early vintages from vineyards near the base of the Howell Mountains in Napa Valley. Later, she acquired land on Tychson Hill and enlisted the renowned viticulturist David Abreu to oversee vineyard planting. Planted on soils of weathered volcanic rock and iron-red stones, the Tychson Hill vineyard was originally planted in the 19th century by Josephine Tychson – the first woman to build a winery in the Napa Valley. The vineyard was replanted with heritage clones of Cabernet Sauvignon in the mid 1990s by Anne Colgin. On the 2014 Thychson Hills. "Fantastic aromas of sweet tobacco, rose petals, mushrooms and dark fruits such as raspberries and currants. Citrus blossom, too. Full body, firm and velvety tannins, yet this remains tight and polished. Very reserved and beautiful. Subtle texture. Savory. You are going to want to drink this now! However, it`s a beauty built for aging. The purity of Cabernet Sauvignon (95%) is spellbinding." 100 points, James Suckling, 2017
