Considered by some as one of the finest wines Cos d`Estournel has ever produced, the 2009 comes from an outstanding Saint-Estèphe vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon-led (65%) with Merlot, it shows deep, almost opaque colour and a rich bouquet of blackcurrant, graphite, liquorice and spice. The palate is opulent yet structured, with ripe, well-integrated tannins and real concentration through a long finish. Already showing beautifully, it will continue to improve for decades to come. A superb centrepiece for a serious dinner with beef or lamb.
