Château d’Issan 2016 is a Left Bank Bordeaux red wine from the Margaux appellation. The blend consists of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot, reflecting a shift towards more Cabernet in the vineyard over the last two decades. The estate`s gravel-over-clay terroir allowed the vines to withstand the summer drought, resulting in grapes with slow-ripened, high-quality tannins. The wine oozes dark cherry and plum fruit, defined by a silky, velvety texture and a massive structural backbone. Aromatics of violets, cedar and damp earth lead into a palate of remarkable precision and depth.
