Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Set in the dramatic and beautiful Cafayate region of northern Argentina, El Porvenir winery has a long and rich history of producing high-quality wines using traditional methods combined with modern techniques. El Porvenir de Cafayate is known for its exceptional Malbec and Torrontés wines grown on some of the world’s highest altitude vineyards, as well as its commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible winemaking practices. This elegant red is made from 100% Malbec grapes grown in the Laborum Vineyard which sits at an elevation of 1,700 meters above sea level. This high altitude, combined with the hot, dry climate of the region, creates ideal growing conditions for the Malbec grapes, resulting in a wine that is rich, complex, and full of character. Warm, sunny days and cool nights help to lock in lots of natural freshness and aromatics as well as ripe fruity flavours. Expect a deep ruby red in the glass and luscious notes of ripe black fruit, such as blackberries and plums, along with hints of spice and oak. The first sip reveals a generous full body, smooth tannins, and flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and tobacco as well as a hint of vanilla from the oak aging process. This makes it perfect for pairing with rich, meaty dishes, such as grilled steak or lamb, as well as strong cheeses, such as Roquefort or aged cheddar.
