M Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon 2001 is a mature single-vineyard red wine produced from Syrah grapes in the northern Rhône Valley of France. Produced from biodynamically farmed old vines aged 90-100 years on the famed hill of Hermitage, Chapoutier`s Le Pavillon is consistently one of the profoundest and most-long-lived Syrahs from the Hermitage vineyard. "Very dark, youthful purplish crimson – pretty hidden nose but with lots of depths. Velvety, round, sweet but meaty and majestic. Quite different from the wines above – a sort of cross between Hermitage sturdiness and the direct impact of an Australian Shiraz. Much more expressive than most.
