Dominio de Pingus in the Ribera del Duero was founded in 1995 by Danish winemaker, Peter Sisseck. Initially with incredibly small production of extremely old-vine Tempranillo, he rapidly made a name for himself as one of the most exciting wine producers in the region and continues to have a global reputation for his thoroughly modern and highly individual wines. Though considered a second wine, Flor de Pingus is a wonderful wine in its own right, made from old vine fruit, fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured mostly in seasoned oak barrels of various sizes. The 2015 is rich, powerful and juicy, with admirable concentration of fruit, wonderfully silky tannins, ample freshness and no shortage of elegance.
