Merchant's description

Château Gazin 1985 is a mature-vintage, Merlot-based red wine from the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Owned by the Bailliencourt family since the 20th century, Château Gazin is a 26-hectare Pomerol estate planted on one of the highest plateaus in the region where the vines are on average 35 years old. The wines offer a classically rich and luxurious expression of Merlot-led fruit from the appellation. "A spicy aroma of cedar and cinnamon, followed by raspberry and cherry flavours, a soft texture. Finishes with sweet fruit and firm tannins. Deceptively attractive now, but it should improve for five years or more in the cellar." Wine Spectator
