Family owned since its founding six decades ago, Heitz Cellar was a pillar of the new-wave Napa Valley wine industry that began in the early 1960s. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, which is one of Napa`s iconic labels. Heitz holds an exclusive agreement with the owners of the14-hectare vineyard in the Oakville AVA since the first purchase of fruit in 1965. The 1976 vintage is a remarkably balanced wine, evoking notes of eucalyptus, cassis, Moroccan tea, cinnamon and mineral elements on the finish.
