Selosse’s lieu-dit, or single parcel, range stems from belief that site is the most important determinant of wine quality. Since the mid-2000’s, Anselme Selosse began testing that theory by releasing 6 lieux-dits. These non-vintage wines are created using the perpetual reserve method whereby wine from the most recent vintage has cask-aged wines from all previous wines blended in. A portion of this new blend is bottled and the remnants returns to cask for future use. La Côte Faron is 100% Pinot Noir from Aÿ. With wines dating back to 1994, this is a superbly powerful, dense and immensely complex wine.
