Krug’s famous blanc de blancs, Clos du Mesnil is named after a small 1.85 hectare walled vineyard in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. This 1982 vintage is considered to be the best of the decade. The nose reveals a myriad of aromas such as toffee, honey, dried apricots, dates, butterscotch and some orange peel. The wine coats the palate with a creamy, nutty layer. The acidity is incredibly sharp and pronounced, but it carries a pleasant, fruity aftertaste.
