Lapostolle is a Chilean winery founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband in 1994. Their wines are recognized for their modern and elegant style, combining French viticulture expertise with Chilean terroir. The Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon is produced with small additions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked from select parcels of the estate's vineyards, located at altitudes between 185 and 385 meters above sea level. After harvest, the wine is fermented in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, and then aged for 13 months in French oak (30% new). The result is a powerful wine, a classic expression of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, it reveals an intense, dark red color with purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and elegant, with fruity notes of black cherries, fresh blueberries, and other ripe berries, along with spicy and aromatic herb notes and hints of olives. On the palate, it is concentrated and well-structured with a pleasant and surprising minerality. It's a juicy and rich wine, fruity and fresh, with velvety tannins and a long, layered finish. Try it with roast lamb chops.
