Château Le Boscq 1996 is a Cru Bourgeois from Saint-Estèphe, produced from Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Petit Verdot. The 1996 vintage in the Médoc was marked by a long, dry harvest that favoured Cabernet fruit of excellent ripeness and structure. The wine shows classic Left Bank character, with aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, graphite and a touch of tobacco. On the palate it remains firm and savoury, with well-defined tannins and balanced acidity supporting mature flavours of cassis, leather and earth.
