Having only released its first vintage in 1979, Le Pin is one of the newest names in Bordeaux. Owned and operated by the Thienpont family (of Vieux Château Certan), production is truly miniscule by Bordeaux standards and it is one of the most highly sought-after wines in the world. Le Pin is an exotic and flamboyant style of Bordeaux produced from almost entirely Merlot and the 2005 was widely considered as an exceptionally high-quality release. Just 500 cases were produced.
