Château Léoville-Las Cases is one of Saint-Julien’s major players, consistently producing superb Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant wines. Ranked as a Second Growth in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc and Graves, the estate boasts 98 hectares of vineyards, where the vines are on average 40 years old. The 2008 is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. A medium to full-bodied wine, featuring layers of black fruit, dried herbs, cassis, a touch of charcoal and mint, leading to a savoury finish.
