Located in Rully, Burgundy, Maison Louis Picamelot is a family-run winery founded in 1926 and remains one of the oldest producers of Crémant de Bourgogne. The estate, which extends across approximately 17 hectares of vineyards and also sources grapes from local partners, has been led by Philippe Chautard since the late 1980s. The Cremant de Bourgogne Les Terroirs Brut Rosé is made with Pinot Noir grapes from hillside vineyards in the Côte Chalonnaise and Côte de Beaune. Here, the vines are rooted in clay-limestone soils and enjoy a continental climate. After manual harvesting and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine ages on the lees for 12 months before disgorgement. In the glass, the wine reveals a deep, bright rosé color and fine, persistent bubbles. Its aromatic profile is lively and fragrant, with notes of red berries and wild strawberries. On the palate, it is fresh and crisp, fruity and smooth, with a distinctive acidity and a vibrant, juicy character. It is youthful and elegant, harmonious and easy to drink, with a medium-long, slightly tart finish. It pairs deliciously with mixed fruit salads, prosciutto and melon, and grilled vegetables and also makes an excellent summer aperitif.
