Château Lynch-Bages is a prestigious Fifth Growth estate located just outside the town of Pauillac. The property was purchased in 1939 by Jean-Charles Cazes, and it is currently managed by his great-grandson, also named Jean-Charles Cazes. The 1986 vintage is close to its peak now, showing notes of blackcurrants, graphite, chocolate, mint and some leather. The tannins are still evident but no longer obtrusive or harsh.
