Château Margaux 1977 is a fully mature First Growth Bordeaux from the most celebrated property in the Margaux appellation of the Médoc. The 1977 vintage was the first produced by the current owners, the Mentzelopoulos family. Renowned for their perfumed elegance, the wines of Château Margaux also possess a subtle power, an extraordinary silky texture and profound longevity. This wine is an isolated success from what is generally considered to be a mediocre Bordeaux vintage. "The wine combines an elegance of aroma with density and purity of fruit. The tannins, if not powerful, are vigorous and fine. This is a wine of poise and class that rouses the senses with its fragrance and harmony on the palate.
