Founded over hundred years ago, Georges Lignier has some of the greatest vineyards in and around Morey-Saint-Denis. Jasper Morris observes " one of the strengths of the 16ha domaine is to have mature vineyards… replanted systematically in the 1950s with good vine material, not clones. " The domaine is led by Benoit Stehly, nephew of Georges Lignier, who worked for a decade alongside his uncle, before assuming control of the work in both the vineyard and the cellar in 2008. Benoit's 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis has very good aging potential and will reward those who cellar it with increased complexity and depth
