Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. Located in the Langhe wine district, in the municipality of La Morra, the Piedmontese Negretti winery was founded in 2002 and owns approximately 13 hectares of vineyards. The Negretti brothers, Massimo and Ezio, the fourth generation of a family of winemakers, manage the business in a modern and dynamic manner with great respect for the terroir and local winemaking traditions. The Nebbiolo grapes come from three vineyards (Bricco Ambrogio, Rive, and Bettolotti), all located at an altitude between 230 and 270 meters between the municipalities of Roddi and La Morra. Here, the vines are rooted in marly, calcareous, and sandy soils and enjoy predominantly south and southeast exposure. After temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the finished wine ages for the first six months in French oak barriques and for the next year and a half in Austrian oak barrels. The result is an elegant and harmonious wine that combines modernity and tradition. On the nose, this Barolo reveals aromas of red and dark berries, hints of undergrowth, and spices. On the palate, it is robust and firm, full-bodied and lean, with fine tannins and a pleasant minerality that lingers on a long and elegant finish. It is excellent with aged cheeses and porcini beef stew.
