Merchant's description

The 1979 vintage marked the first release of Opus One, a joint venture between pioneering Californian winemaker Robert Mondavi and the late Baron Philippe de Rothschild. From a complex vintage, the 2011 is an admirable release composed of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. It is rich, rounded and plush with plenty of early drinking appeal.
