Merchant's description

Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux 2014 is a Left Bank Bordeaux red wine from the Margaux appellation. This second wine is produced with the same care as the Grand Vin, utilising fruit from younger vines on the estate’s prime gravel soils. The 2014 vintage in Margaux was highly successful, benefiting from a late Indian summer that allowed for perfect phenolic ripening. The wine is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and one per cent Petit Verdot, displaying a suave, sophisticated character with vibrant fruit and great vitality. The palate is juicy and fresh, with tannins that have begun to melt into the dark plum and cassis fruit. Notes of incense, white pepper and earth add complexity to the nose, leading into a long, elegant finish.
