Domaine de Montille is the biggest vineyard owner within the premier cru ‘Les Rugiens-Bas’ with two parcels that combined have a total vineyard area of 1.02 hectares. The quality of the clay and the presence of iron in the soil give this site a distinct character that stands out in the Côte de Beaune. 2011 was described as a ‘beautiful vintage’ by the domaine, as the alcohol levels were relatively low, but the acidity was high, without overpowering the wines.
