Pommery POP Silver
Pommery POP Silver is a off-dry, light-bodied sparkling from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay (Champagne, France), in the sparkling style. Acidity is fresh; oak influence is none. Good with aperitif, oysters, fish and chips, eggs.

Silver POP is the newest addition to Pommery's POP range - the same rule-breaking idea that launched in 1999, when Pommery became the first house to make a Champagne designed to be drunk straight from the bottle, through a straw if you liked. It was aimed at a younger crowd who found the usual Champagne ceremony a bit much, and a whole category of single-serve fizz followed. This is the one in the bright, mirror-silver bottle. Inside it is proper Pommery: the classic three-grape Champagne blend, led by Pinot Noir for roundness, with Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay from around Reims for freshness. It comes in a 20cl bottle with a real cork, a full-size wire cage and silver foil - a Champagne bottle in miniature. It's made in the Extra Dry style, which sits just off-dry - a touch softer and rounder than a brut - so it's easy, fresh and fruity. One bottle is a single generous glass. Serve it as cold as you can, straight from the fridge.
