Pontet-Canet is a highly praised wine estate located within the Pauillac appellation. The château was ranked as a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification but for the past few years, it has been considered the equivalent of a top Second Growth. The 2012 vintage is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. This was the first time that Pontet-Canet matured nearly a third of the vintage in concrete amphoras.
