Merchant's description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 5 years. No need to decant. Rapaura Springs is an award-winning New Zealand winery owned by the Neylons and Wiffins families, who founded it in the mid-1980s. Today, the company, which produces excellent white and red wines from the Marlborough region, also benefits from the consultancy of flying winemaker Matt Thomson. The ROHE (meaning "territory”) wine range was created to showcase the diversity of Marlborough's terroirs by selecting the finest grapes from multiple distinct subregional sites, revealing the region's full and diverse winemaking potential. The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are selected and harvested from the Blind River subregion, located on Marlborough's southern coast, with dry, cool, and windy conditions and soils composed of a mix of stone and clay. Harvesting is done by plot, in multiple phases to ensure optimal ripeness of each bunch. After fermentation in stainless steel, which takes place separately for each plot, the wines are blended and aged on the lees for three months. In the glass, the wine reveals a powerfully aromatic character with intense notes of citrus and lemongrass, gooseberry, and aromatic herbs, with some tropical hints on the finish. On the palate, it is crisp and smooth, juicy and fresh, with a good body and a long, salty, citrusy finish. Try it with seafood, fresh salads, and avocado toast.
