Merchant's description

Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve chilled. This elegant wine is a great example of New Zealand’s magnificent Sauvignon Blancs from one of the country’s top boutique producers, Craggy Range. Founded in 1997 by Australian businessman Terry Peabody and Master of Wine Steve Smith, the estate is named after the dramatic mountain Te Mata which looms directly above the winery in Hawkes Bay. Today Craggy Range specialises in crafting exceptional single vineyard estate-grown wines with an unwavering commitment to quality and true expression of the local terroir. Their Wild Rock Sauvignon is made from fruit sourced from Marlborough where the long, warm summers are moderated by cooling breezes which move inland overnight. This helps the grapes to ripen fully without losing the precious aromatics and freshness which are so typical of the Sauvignon Blanc variety. Gooseberry, lime, fresh mango and passionfruit immediately leap out of the glass, while the first sip reveals a bright and breezy flavour profile with mouthwatering freshness and plenty of ripe tropical fruit. The pure, clean finish and ripe fruit flavours make this a great wine to enjoy as a refreshing aperitif or to pair with everything from seafood and sushi to leafy summer salads, creamy cheeses and pan-fried fish.
