Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for half an hour. The Razi'el cellar is part of the Domaine du Castel, and more precisely it was the first seat of the Domaine for 20 years. After moving to the new Yad Hashmona headquarters in 2015, the Ben Zaken family decided to start using the cellar again to produce more experimental wines that can express the territory but using different techniques and varieties. Under the Razi'el label, the company produces a red wine, a rosé and two sparkling wines. This red wine is produced with a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan grapes selected and harvested manually. The finished wine is then aged in oak barrels for 18 months. Razi'el Red is a bold, full-bodied wine with a deep, intense purple color. On the nose, it reveals a broad aromatic profile with notes of dark fruit such as plum and black cherry and hints of aromatic herbs and spices. On the palate, it is concentrated and fruity with soft tannins and a good balance of flavors and acidity. The finish is long. It is the ideal wine in combination with Middle Eastern recipes based on lamb, or with Moussaka.
