The 2018 Realm Cellars The Bard is a powerful Napa Valley red blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Petite Sirah. Drawn from multiple vineyard sites and numerous lots, it displays layered complexity and structure. The nose offers inky dark fruits – crème de cassis, plum and blueberry – lifted by floral hints of lavender and notes of chocolate, clove and spice. On the palate, rich black fruit, liquorice and leather unfold over firm but polished tannins, finishing with a mineral-laced persistence.
