Screaming Eagle 1997
Screaming Eagle 1997 is a dry, very full-bodied red from Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley, United States), in the full, structured reds style. Tannins are very firm and acidity fresh; oak influence is noticeable. Good with steak, lamb, venison, cheese board. Listed at £6000.00 by Hedonism Wines, who say it is out of stock; that is the last price, not an offer.

Screaming Eagle is perhaps the most famous California Cult winery of all time and produces one of the most sought-after wines in the world. Sourced from a small, 57-acre vineyard in Oakville, Napa, production of this exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend is supremely limited and older vintages are increasingly rare. 1997 is possibly one of the finest ever releases and received a perfect 100-point score from wine critic, Robert Parker, Jr. He noted that it had “extraordinary purity, symmetry and a finish that lasts for nearly a minute”. This should be absolutely perfect for drinking now and may well keep for several more years.
