Sine Qua Non is one of the most famous cult wineries in the world and winemaker, Manfred Krankl, is celebrated for crafting tiny quantities of unique Rhône-inspired wines from exceptional vineyards across the Californian Central Coast. The 2015 Grenache Le Chemin Vers l’Heresie is a hedonistic but gloriously vivacious blend of 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 8% Touriga Nacional and 4% Petite Sirah. Wonderfully full-bodied, rich and intense, this wine is awash with sumptuous black fruits, dried flower perfume and smoky savoury depth. As ever with SQN wines there is abundant youthful charm but a short spell in the cellar will undoubtedly be rewarded.
